Level 4 addictions counselling, Level 5 diploma in Leadership & Management.
I began working in residential clinics in 2003. During this time I have gained a wide range of experience in setting up and managing clinics, including The Sanctum and Charterhouse Clinic, Flore.
In 2011 I spent time working for the CQC where I gained a good understanding of the industry standards and developed an insight into developing and improving standards of care within residential clinics
“My own experience with both recovery and addiction is what drives me to continue to work in the field of addiction. I spent many years in and out of rehab facilities, some were great, and some were awful. It’s this personal experience alongside my professional achievements that gives me the passion and drive needed to continue to work in addiction. I have witnessed so many families rebuild relationships when they had lost all hope. There is something that happens when addicts or alcoholics find recovery, its like the flame is lit again. Seeing someone come alive after having no hope is something both myself and my family are familiar with, and the reason I am so passionate about the work I do.”
“In 2012, I was approached by Stephen Mallion, Co-founder of The Lighthouse. He had an idea to set up a residential clinic in Southend on Sea. With Stephens dedication, and my experience, The Lighthouse finally opened in 2014. Over the years The Team has expanded, and The Lighthouse has gone from strength to strength. We have so many ex-clients who are now living their lives free from the daily grind of addiction, some have even come back to work for us. The Lighthouse is a special place. We are a small facility which means the team really get to know the clients, and the level of care and support is without parallel.”
In my personal time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and swimming regularly. Living a programme of recovery is still very much at the forefront of my life, and I am an active member of Narcotics Anonymous. I am also Chair of the board for a recovery charity in Lichfield.
